Goodbyes are never easy. No one is really ever ready for them. Whether it is the first goodbye of a new relationship or the last goodbye of a long happy life together. It doesn’t matter, we aren’t ready. The last goodbye is the hardest. Especially, when you look back and can’t remember it, but you know that whatever was said in that moment in time is the last thing to ever be said. Those are the hardest goodbyes. Tonight we said good bye to a wonderful man and a close family friend. He and my dad had been friends for as long as I could remember. He was a kind and loving person after talking to him you just felt better, even if it was just a simple “Hi, how are you?” in passing at the grocery store.
He loved airplanes, he and my dad could talk for hours about them and anything else under the sun. He was a very active member at the municipal airport and helped make breakfast many Saturday mornings for the fly-ins. I am glad to have known him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fly high Tony, you have your golden wings now.
